Tomoko Hosaka is a journalist-turned-digital media entrepreneur. At Plympton, she oversees business operations and strategy, as well as management of DailyLit. She previously worked at Ustream, the world's largest live interactive video platform, where she led news content, strategy and partnerships. Before moving home to Silicon Valley in late 2011, Tomoko covered Japan as a business and technology writer for The Associated Press in Tokyo. She was an integral member of the AP's award-winning team that chronicled the 2011 earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster. Her career also includes stints at Dow Jones Newswires, The Oregonian and The Washington Post. Tomoko serves on the governing board of the Asian American Journalists Association. She graduated from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism and received a master's degree from the Graduate School of Asia-Pacific Studies at Waseda University.
